About the role
Fin is seeking a highly skilled, detail-oriented, and passionate Credit Manager to join our high performing team. The Credit Manager is responsible for overseeing the organization’s credit function, ensuring the effective management of the loan book, adherence to credit policies, and optimizing the collection and recovery processes. This role requires strategic oversight of credit administration, credit analysis, and the recovery of both secured and unsecured loans to maintain a high-quality loan portfolio and minimize risk
Key responsibilities
• Develop strategies to improve portfolio performance and mitigate credit risks.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal credit policies.
• Establish and enforce credit limits, terms, and conditions to protect the organization from financial risk.
• Evaluate the financial viability of loan applications through credit analysis and risk assessment.
• Monitor disbursement processes to ensure accuracy and compliance with approved terms.
• Approve or recommend credit applications within delegated authority limits.
• Analyze market trends and their impact on the credit portfolio
• Manage relationships with external recovery agents and ensure adherence to recovery protocols.
• Ensure accurate reporting and timely updates to senior management regarding portfolio perfor mance and credit risk.
• Provide training and guidance to the credit team to improve operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including finance, legal, and compliance teams, to optimize credit operations
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
• Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CFA, or Credit Management Certification) is an added advantage.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in credit management, with a proven track record in loan admi- nistration, collections, and policy formulation.
• Experience in banking or MFI industry is mandatory Skills and Competencies:
• Strong understanding of credit metrics, risk assessment, and portfolio management.
• Expertise in recovery processes for secured and unsecured loans.
• Analytical and strategic thinking capabilities.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Proficient in credit analysis tools and financial software.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
